Captain Henry Schneider announced a delegation from the Waynesboro organization delivering a badge for the Portsmouth trip to Virginia State Firemen's Convention on August 20. Members discussed fundraising, travel arrangements, and electing delegates and alternates to the 16th Annual Convention in Portsmouth.

Infant Dies at Hayfield Cholera Infantum
Johnny, infant son of Archie and Nannie ler, died at Hayfield this morning at eighteen months old. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 11 o clock at St. John's with Rev. W. S. Smith officiating. Interment will follow in St. John's graveyard.

Bold burglars caught at work on east Piccadilly street
Two bold negro burglars attempted to enter the saloon of Gearing and Shiner on east Piccadilly. Walter Shiner fired a revolver as one burglar fled to a roof and the other waited below. Moonlit pursuit ended with the men escaping after a tense chase.
