In Woodstock last week Circuit Judge T. W. Harrison denied the Madison district local option petition after D. C. Evans had his name struck from the signer list. Treasurers’ books showed credits for Evans, but the oversight by J. Hutcheson caused the error. With Evans removed the petition failed by the required count. Stonewall district also lacked sufficient names and was denied. The matter may be raised again after a new petition is prepared.
