The Burrill Comedy Company presented Saved from the Sea last night at the Auditorium to a large enthusiastic audience. An SRO sign went up half an hour before curtain as the clever play unfolded with ludicrous and sympathetic scenes and impressive scenery. A notable bridge scene features a ten foot footbridge that breaks mid run, sending a character into a deep precipice.

Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Boyd died Monday near Martinsburg West Virginia at age eighty four. Her funeral was held Tuesday with interment in Charlestown West Virginia. She was the widow of the late R. M. E. Boyd and mother of ten, including R. E. Boyd of north Market street. She was formerly Miss Palmer of Loudoun County Virginia.

Injured Man Bleeds After Ax Accident Near Mt Williams
Monroe Frye of near Mt Williams in this county nearly bled to death after a Tuesday ax mishap while chopping wood. His foot was crushed near the ankle, arteries and veins cut, and a delayed doctor arrival left the family fearing death before aid. Drs Love and Miller finally arrived yesterday, dressed the wound, and Frye rested, though he fainted at night.

Father of the Fruit Industry Dies in West Virginia
William B. Miller known as the father of the Shenandoah Valley fruit industry died at his home in Gerardstown Berkeley County West Virginia on Tuesday night at age 82. Negro Attempted Assassination Near Stephens City
Sheri dan James, a colored resident, tried to shoot Charles Franklin, a widower suspected of causing his wife to leave James. Franklin fled, James shot at him from Academy Hill, and a second man, Frank Carter, stopped the attack. James was arrested, released on five dollars, and vanished before today’s trial. No injuries reported.
