A morning fire at the Dewey Hotel in Omaha Nebraska killed an estimated 60 people with hundreds more feared dead. The blaze gutted the building and damaged nearby businesses as rescuers faced collapsing walls and intense heat.
The body of Mrs. F M Bond widow of Francis M Bond was laid to rest in Staunton Virginia after dying last week in Madison Wisconsin at age 23. She was formerly Juliet Chermside of Staunton and a niece of General Chermside of the British army. She is survived by her husband and an infant. Bond is the son of Rev Dr Beverley M Bond.
The carrier boys of The Star are instructed to deliver papers on the porches or in the doors of subscribers homes or places of business. The Star would appreciate prompt advice from subscribers in case The Star is not delivered on porches or in doors.
