Boy Dies From Bite Of A Cat In Cumberland Md
Albert Riehl aged thirteen son of Jacob Riehl of Valley street Cumberland Maryland died from a cat bite two months after the incident. He was bitten on the nose while trying to separate a fight between a cat and a dog and later developed convulsions showing rabies symptoms. He died after treatment at a local hospital. The same cat had previously bitten another person who died.

In Shenandoah County Lee district yesterday the dry side carried three of four precincts by 130 in a total of 434 votes. The result ended long disputes with minimal bitterness as saloons in New Market will close April 30 leaving two Hess barrooms in Woodstock connected to local hotels. The 1899 local option in Lee district had gone wet by 67.

New Freight Agent Arrives in Winchester With Promotion
C Clevenger, retiring general freight agent of the Cumberland Valley Railroad, visited Winchester in a private car with J L Eysmans the new general freight agent. Miniature Blizzard Hits Valley With Severe Cold Snap
The Valley experienced the heaviest snow of the season with a western style blizzard yesterday morning. Five to six inches fell in Winchester with drifts up to four to five feet. Snow ceased by afternoon, temperature fell sharply, last night was likely the coldest of the winter with subzero readings and a twenty degree drop overnight.
