Detective Nimrod Murray in a East York household fracas
Special detective Nimrod P. Murray received a bumped head and bruised thumb during a scuffle at the Easton home on Foundry street while observing preparations for Mrs Easton and Mr Zadoc Smith. Delancey Hicks Tries Suicide in Newport News Jail
Dr. Delancey Hicks once based in Winchester, jailed for forgery at Newport News, attempted hanging in his cell Saturday night. Convict Julius Lane and another prisoner found him suspended by a cotton rope, lowering him to the floor where he revived. Since then Hicks has not spoken to jail staff or inmates.

Fined For Selling Liquor to Minors in Police Court
In the police court this afternoon the Commonwealth v Samuel G Noakes was heard on charges of selling liquor to minors. Magistrate James P Reardon fined Noakes $75 and ordered $500 in costs. The February 4 offense was prosecuted by Kerm and A Byrd. The report also notes the death of Henry Huuntsb dent of Jefferson and mentions survivors.
