At quarterly conference of Market Street Methodist Episcopal Church the Board of Stewards urged the Baltimore Conference through presiding elder Rev W S McKenney for Rev E Olin Eldridge to be returned as pastor both spiritually and financially. Delegates elected for laymen’s convention in Hagerstown and adjourned meeting set for March 25 to review financials.
After three months illness Mrs Bertie Lupton wife of Edward Lupton died of consumption at Bliss in this county She leaves a husband and an infant and was formerly Miss Hammond of Shenandoah County Virginia She was daughter of Geo H Hammond and survives by two sisters Mrs Banton Snapp and Mrs William Lupton and a brother A J Hammond Funeral Saturday at 10 from her residence with burial at St Pauls Church Rev Dr John E Bushnell officiating
Mrs Kate Hottel Cooper of Mt Olive died after a grip illness. She was 69 and survived by four brothers Geo W of Lincoln Nebraska H H and E B of Shenandoah County and W W R E Hottel of this city. Rev Skyles to officiate at services with multiple remembrances in Mt Olive and Tom s Brook.
Sartalle plans a trip to Baltimore tomorrow to visit Mrs Thomas Mallonee and other relatives.
W F Plank of Winchester operator of a stage line to Front Royal Va was arrested for selling liquor without a license He was fined 20 and costs by Mayor Frank Forsythe and plans to appeal The case hinges on Front Royal being a local option town where liquor sales are banned and drivers acting as agents for orders and payment were deemed sellers within the town limits
A Martinsburg based dentist Dr George Ashlin Hamil age 41 died suddenly at 5 30 am after brief illness of acute indigestion. Survived by widow Miss Let tie Benton two daughters and sister Miss Belle Hamil Ohio. Member of State Board of Dental Examiners and inventor of dental appliances. Remains to be taken to Greencastle Pa for interment.
The funeral of Mrs. Acah Hyde, who died in Annapolis Maryland Tuesday, was held at three o clock this afternoon. She was the second wife of the late Frederick Hyde and mother of Rev Dr John P Hyde president of Valley Female College. Her son George M Hyde is an active temperance worker in Anne Arundel county and a former Maryland legislature candidate on the Prohibition ticket. Her daughter is Miss Eila Hyde of Annapolis. Dr Hyde could not attend the funeral.
Miss Nannie Jenkins of South Main Street was scratched on the finger by a cat named Jett while playing this morning. The incident involved a domestic domestic setting and no serious injury was reported.
A blaze broke out at Edward Steele's farm two miles east of Reliance at 3.30 pm and spread to a wood belt. John Price's rent house and most contents burned for a 300 dollar loss with no insurance. Firefighters saved nearby homes after heroic efforts as shingles and dry leaves ignited further areas.
The funeral for Annie Harloe was held at three this afternoon in Winchester after she died near Hayfield Tuesday night. The burial followed transport through Baltimore and Ohio and Southern Railroads to Quicksburg. Attending were her husband Walter Harloe and family, W E Harloe, A C Slonaker, Katie Davis, and Walter Cox who arrived shortly after the news. Mrs Harloe died at 27. her grandmother is 97.

Authorized capital 50000 in ten dollar shares. The first lease covers eighty five acres in Wood county with options on seven hundred more. Directors include Alexander Parks L W Robinson John T Nadenbousch and James W Noll with officers Parke president Robinson vice president Nadenbousch treasurer Leonard secretary.
Rev 8 D Skelton pastor learns of his sister Mrs Mollie E Robey dies of heart disease in Waynesboro Virginia after three months illness. Funeral planned there. she is survived by husband five children and several siblings including S D Skelton and Lois A Fout.
