Barkison vows to prosecute assailant in Pennsylvania
William Henry Barkison, the colored man employed by Judge Atkinson as a stable man and coachman, says he has identified his shooter and will have the man arrested for shooting to kill. Barkison was shot on February 6 near the judge’s Washington street premises and, after recovering, learned the suspect is a man in Pennsylvania. Barkison also faces eviction for back rent.
