The eleventh annual Farmers Institute of Frederick County closes this afternoon at 4 10 with packed audiences in The Auditorium. Morning sessions featured S L Lupton on farmer self protection and Prof Fulton on cold storage of fruit. Miss Nannie delivered a popular recitation as discussions on hogs sheep crops and fruit culture continued with Junior Orchestra and recitations enhancing the program.

Last night the Friendship Fire Company's bazar drew an unusually large crowd. Two visiting groups the Berryville Fire Department and the Sarah Zine Steam Fire Engine Company helped raise about 85 dollars. The Berryville team, led by Captain Enders, arrived early and stayed for the bazar while the Sarah Zine Drum Corps marched in with their band.

John M. Davis, long-time Winchester resident and shoemaker, died this afternoon at 3 o clock at his mother's home on south Market street after a lengthy stomach illness and related diseases.
