Fire destroys St James Pro Mission near Elkton Virginia
News arrives of a complete fire ruin at the St James Pro testant Episcopal Mission in Greene county seven miles east of Elkton Va. The building used as a school housed two teachers and several students who fled in night clothes. Logs valued around 2000 were mostly destroyed. two trunks survived. Cause uncertain with reports of defective flue and possible arson. Mission property of the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia, led by Rev W Roy Mason, may be rebuilt.

Brakeman Day Shoots Self During Hunt Near Edinburg
Brakeman John Day of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad shot himself in the left palm yesterday while visiting relatives near Edinburg Shenandoah County Virginia. He was four miles from Edinburg then walked home through snow drifts to Winchester Memorial Hospital for treatment. He had been employed as a yard brakeman at Brunswick Maryland and the bullet entered the fleshy part of his hand. Doctor W A Bell attended the case in the temporary absence of Dr Julian F Ward.
