Five men arrested in whiskey warehouse burglary
Five white men aged 21 to 34 were arrested on charges of wholesale theft of Paul Jones whiskey from the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad warehouse. Henry McKinney allegedly led the scheme with Jacob Hook, Albert Cline, Henry Cave, and James Cave assisting. McKinney confessed after questioning, saying Hook guarded the outside while he entered the warehouse.

Mrs Brent Injured in Sleet Crash at Stevensons Depot
An 86 year old woman, Harriet Brent, suffered a fractured left thigh and severe bruises after slipping on ice at Stevensons Depot. She was found unconscious, treated by Dr. David Janney, and is now improving though recovery is expected to be slow due to age. Other locals, Mrs. C. T. James W. Kellican a 61 year old resident of north Winchester died last night at his Fairfax avenue home after a long illness with consumption. A native of the county he had lived in Winchester for years and worked at the Old Dominion Paper Company. He leaves two daughters and one son, and a brother George Kellican of the county. Funeral arrangements await the son’s arrival from Philadelphia. The funeral will be held tomorrow at 1 o’clock from the late residence, then proceed to Red Bud for burial.
