Fire Captain Evans Is Hurt After Step Fall

Tail of a rattlesnake on display at Stak office
Auctioner E. L. Hodgson exhibited a monster rattlesnake tail at the Stak office showing 24 rattles and a button. The tail indicates the snake was about 26 years old. The reptile was killed near Bloomery West Virginia years ago by Mr. John B. Chapman.

Coons Drunk and Lost Horses Route to Winchester
A 22 horse caravan moving from Harrisonburg toward Pennsylvania was diverted after two hired men, intoxicated, released the horses near New Market. Local resident Henkle recovered them and located the owner Beatty to arrange delivery in Winchester. Mrs Routzahn's Nephew Dead Smithsburg physician dies of meningitis
Dr. William T. Riddlemoser age 43 of Smithsburg Maryland died at home Wednesday night from tubercular meningitis. A nephew of Mrs N Routzahn of Winchester he graduated from the College of Physicians and Surgeons Baltimore in 1882 and practiced in Smithsburg. He married the daughter of the late Henry Colliflower of Hagerstown and is survived by his wife a son Henry 12 a mother grandmother Elizabeth George 93 a brother Frank Riddlemoser and five sisters. Adtivision 36 and 5 cents.

Ball of Fire Darts Through Heavens
A bright meteor appeared about 7 15 PM Saturday night in the northwest sky traveling southeast. It resembled a huge ball of fire leaving rainbow colored sparks that lit the path for five minutes after the main body vanished. Witnesses called it a magnificent and rare celestial sight.
Balto Conference Meets In March in Fredericksburg
The Baltimore Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church South will meet in Fredericksburg Virginia on March 25. About 275 clerical and lay delegates will attend with Bishop A Coke Smith presiding.
