Waron Wedge Accident in Ridgeway Leaves Eye at Risk
Ridgeway West Virginia February 16 Mr Stewart Swartz suffered a serious eye injury while driving an iron wedge in a log. A heavy blow by a maul caused the wedge to recoil striking his left eye. Dr M C Hoffman and William Payne aided him and he was rushed to Kings Daughters Hospital Martinsburg by the Cumberland Valley Railroad train No 12. Doctors there hoped to save the eye. Swartz is the son of Mr and Mrs William Swartz of the area and well known locally.

Two young colored people left their horse and buggy tied in front of the Empire Theater while attending a show. On return the team was missing. An investigation yielded no result and the owners walked home. The horse returned home alone this morning.

Dispatched from Kearneysville W Va officials announce the deaths of Freight Conductor Harry A Reed 46 of Brunswick and brakeman Harvey Bittner about 25 of Hancock.
