College janitor Johnston dies after illness at 63
Special to The Star from Middletown county reports Mr J Avis Johnston longtime janitor of the Seventh Congressional District Agricultural College at Middletown died last night after a period of illness aged 63. He was highly regarded by students and the community and is survived by his widow Elizabeth Copenhaver, a son Charles C Johnston and seven daughters Hula May Lottie Lilla Maude Elizabeth and Catherine. Funeral services will be held at Trinity Methodist Episcopal Church in Middletown at 10 Friday morning, with his remains to be taken to Winchester for interment at Mount Hebron Cemetery, expected to reach there about 2 p.m. Friday.
