Cumberland Md February reports by Dr. Charles Glaser of Baltimore and Dr. R L Lynch of DC indicate carbon monoxide poisoning killed Grace Blosser and Charles E Twigg in the Blosser parlor on December 31. The chemists agreed the deaths resulted from monoxide, not cyanide, challenging the prior verdict.

Miss Daisy Ledane, a blind girl once in a thirteen day hysterical coma, died at Cumberland after relapsing into unconsciousness. She showed signs of movement while deteriorating, with a prior fall at age ten causing blindness and another fall two weeks earlier suggesting some sight restoration. Her father John H. Ledane died a few days earlier.

Death of Alexandria leader during Masonic address shocks Fairfax Council
Robert W. Arnold past grand regent of Virginia’s Grand Lodge collapsed and died of heart failure while addressing 22 candidates at Fairfax Council No. 24 in the Hansbrough and Carter building on North Main Street. He entered the room lively, spoke briefly, and fell as attendants rushed to aid him. He was 53 and longtime Alexandria resident with numerous Virginia connections. His body was sent home to Alexandria aboard the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad with religious and lodge officials in attendance.
