Local undertaker B F Dehaven of Gainesboro arranged with Funk Ray for the funeral.

Lizzie W. Brooks a fourteen year old colored girl died last evening at her White Post home in Clarke County from consumption. She was the daughter of Robert Brooks, a respected colored man. Oldest Winchester Woman Miss Eliza Hunt Dies
Miss Eliza Hunt aged well over 90 and the Braddock Street Methodist Church's oldest member died at 7 45 this morning at 521 North Market Street after a long decline. Born October 19 1824 in Winchester she lived there all her life and was deeply involved with her church. Funeral from her home Saturday at three with Rev Charles D Bulla officiating. Interment Mount Hebron Cemetery. Survived by two nieces Miss Finnfrock and Miss Julia Taylor and a nephew Mr Finnfrock.

Runaway Horse Found Owner Identified
A runaway horse with remnants of harness and sleigh bells dashed through North Main last night. It fled from Mr Coursey Anderson who was in a Welltown sleigh when a traction engine furnace door flare frightened the animal. Anderson escaped unharmed. horse led to Sloat’s livery stable.

He was editor, Confederate soldier and Mason spanning Rockingham and Harrisonburg through a long career. He leaves one daughter Mrs M D Albin and Miss Abbie Bezanson of Nova Scotia. He served in the Tenth Virginia Regiment and was a longtime member of Rockingham Union Lodge 47 years in Harrisonburg. He died reading an open prayer book at his daughter’s home.
