At Front Royal Virginia yesterday Messrs T Ashby Lake and Byrd Fletcher formerly of Winchester were tried for illicit liquor sales before Justices Forsythe Saffelt and Beatty. Amanda Gilkeson, a well known colored woman of this city, was taken to the Colored State Hospital for the Insane in Petersburg, Virginia today. She has suffered mental aberration for some time and papers for commitment were received yesterday. She was brought from her brother’s home near Stephens City yesterday afternoon.
