Charles D. McClane a Baltimore and Ohio Railroad conductor was killed at Eagles west of Brunswick at 8 15 yesterday morning when he slipped from the footboard to the track and his cab ran over him. He was about 35 and survived by a widow and several children in Brunswick. W H Whetzel road foreman of engines in Harrisonburg learned of the tragedy by telegram. his wife is a Baker. McClane entered service at 15 and was once the youngest trainman in the B and O. He had lived in Harrisonburg with his brother Captain Joe McClane. Another brother John McClane is a passenger conductor on the N and W.

Escaped Prisoner Recaptured in Rockingham County
Gilbert Henry of Page County, who fled a Luray jail last summer while awaiting trial for housebreaking, was recaptured in Rockingham County yesterday afternoon by Sheriff N. T. Sedwick. Henry was handcuffed and returned to Luray. He originally escaped on August 11 after stealing twenty seven pieces of meat from farmer Jacob Bowers.

Christopher Erb Dead In Clarke
Christopher Erb, a 76 year old Clarke County farmer living three miles east of Berryville, died at five this morning after a long illness. Funeral services will be at his home Sunday at eleven, burial in Green Hill Cemetery. He was twice married and is survived by a widow and two sons, including Hampton Erb of Berryville.
