Mrs Abbie B Smiffs died about 6 o clock this morning at the home of her son in law and daughter Mr and Mrs M D Albin 309 South Market Street aged about 66 years She was the widow of Joseph K Smith a Shenandoah Valley printer and newspaper publisher She spent years in Washington and Harrisonburg and lived in Winchester the last ten years She is survived by several Bezanson brothers Funeral services will be held at the house at 230 pm Thursday in charge of Rev W H Carter and interment will be at Mount Hebron Cemetery

Veteran William Engle Dies After Civil War Service
William Engle aged 75 died at home near Engles Jefferson county from pneumonia. Survived by his widow and several children. He served in the Civil War with Company D Seventh Virginia Cavalry Ashby Brigade and later Captain Kearney's Company Twelfth Virginia Regiment.
