Board and City Plan Pay Change for Jailor
On Wednesday the Board of County Supervisors and a city committee meet to devise a method to share the jailor’s salary and jail expenses between county and town. Presently the tailor’s salary is split and supplies funded by both entities, with the city paying for 30 cents per day for its prisoners and 80 cents per day for city prisoners’ board. Officials expect abolishing supplies and raising the jailor’s salary to yield savings without reducing total receipts, and a new system likely to be agreed upon.
