Probate of Dr. William Love Will Widens Widow Life Estate

The late Dr. William Love’s last will, dated January 24, 1912 and probated in the Corporation Court, leaves his widow a life estate in Shenandoah Valley National Bank stock and the West Water Street home, with the remainder of the estate going to his three daughters. Parcel post system to start January first nationwide

Regulations for the new parcel post go into effect nationally on January 1. Postmaster General Hitchcock announced that the system will cover all post offices, rural routes, and rail mail transportation, with delivery to homes where carriers exist and post offices otherwise. Rates start at five cents per pound in the first zone and rise to twelve cents per pound across eight zones, with optional $50 insurance for ten cents per parcel.
