League to hurry statewide fight for prohibition at assembly
Richmond Va December 6 Rev J D McAllister field secretary of the State Anti Saloon League says a determined effort will push for a state wide prohibition referendum in the upcoming General Assembly. He notes petitions from across the state and predicts votes within two years while accusing liquor forces of trying to enroll blacks to block the league. An anti saloon gathering in Beewin on January 19 is seen as the starting signal for statewide action.
