James Lawrence Minitree of Washington was found dead on a Petersburg sleeper car en route to Norfolk. The 30 year old traveling salesman, son of late Col J P Minitree, had heart disease and leaves a widow and two children. Augustus M. Thomas, longtime Rockingham resident and Winchester native, died in Cumberland, Massachusetts at about 85. He spent most of his life in Virginia and Maryland, was a Republican with strong yet tolerant views, never married after his wife’s death, and was uncle to Hon. Park Agnew of Alexandria. Ill for ten years with eye trouble, he went totally blind eighteen months ago and died from throat cancer.

Seven prisoners moved from local jail to Woodstock jail
A crowd greeted seven prisoners transferred from the local jail to Woodstock where Sheriff Purcell, City Sergeant Taylor, and Jailor Forney delivered them to Sheriff Dan Spiker. The move, ordered by Circuit Court Judge Har rison, lasts until trials in the Circuit of Corporation Courts resume. James M. Jack, Otho Hillyard, and John Curry are among the detainees. Jack fell ill with epilepsy after arrival.

More Die In Trolley Crash Near Charleston
Special to The Star reports 15 people killed in a collision between an interurban express train and a traction car one mile west of Charleston NL yesterday. Several more died from injuries, and many others were seriously injured as the crash happened so suddenly that few passengers had time to escape.

County Orchard Sold for 4500 in Clarke County
Mr. M. H. Reardon of Winchester sold his 2 500 to 3 000 barrel York Imperial and Ben Davis apple orchard on his White Post farm in Clarke County to Mr. John Thwaite for $4 500. The orchard suffered a light crop this year though the apples are described as exceptionally fine, with Thwaite to oversee picking and transport.
