Indians drop 2nd game as trouble starts early. Hitting paced by Brown Mac Donald Duggan Baker Woodward and others but runs were scarce.
News from Winchester Maryland confirms the marriage of Miss Hattie Snapp and Mr Harry Huff in Hagerstown this morning. Miss Snapp, daughter of Mr and Mrs T H Snapp of Rosenberger, worked as an operator at the Winchester Southern Bell office. Huff, a long-time Winchester liveryman, is well known in the Valley of Virginia for his horse business.
Nebraska Indians scored three runs in the third after Shiner struggled with bunts and miscues. Cantwell allowed only four scattered hits in six innings as Winchester lost, despite solid hitting from Brown, MacDonald, Duggan, and Kissel. About 500 spectators saw the Berryville event.
Mrs R J Halm aged 92 and her daughters returned to Hagerstown after a Winchester Inn visit to host a musicale for St Mary's Church. Highlights included Mrs Dr Halm's performances of Last Rose of Summer and Gottschart Last Hope, with Rev Boyle urging attentive listening.

John Hyett, 86, and his daughter Mrs. Joseph Snapp visited Mrs. Mary F. Trimble at her White Hall area home last weekend. Hyett, Trimble’s only surviving brother, remains hale and active, delivering the Brucetown to Wadesville star route daily.
Rev. Dr. George T. Tyler presiding elder will hold the quarterly conference at the new Southern Methodist Church in Millwood Clarke County on Saturday and Sunday August 31 and September 1. Pastor Re. H. M. Strickler extends a cordial invitation to the public.
Two Baltimore women Mrs Shirley Carter and Mrs J B Beverley escaped uninjured when Carter's horse bolted at Baltimore and Ohio crossing near Kent and Piccadilly streets. The runabout was smashed to pieces as a freight train approached. bystanders aided, both sisters then reached the Berry show principios.
A planned Cumberland Valley baseball league for next year would include Winchester Martinsburg Hagerstown Berkeley Springs Chambersburg and Carlisle. Martinsburg was to play here today but a Winchester trip to the Berryville horse show led to cancellation. The locals expect Martinsburg tomorrow and host them Friday while they visit on Saturday. Labor Day week features two Winchester Martinsburg games with the series led by Martinsburg Winchester and tied with Hagerstown.
