Who Lost This Railroad

Philadelphia reports the discovery of half a mile of ties and railroad iron in the Allegheny river between Oil City and Franklin. The rails bear the Brady's Bend Iron company mark, the first west of the Alleghenies to manufacture railroad iron. The Erie and Lake Shore lines once ran along the river, making it hard to tell which line lost the section long ago. Brady's Bend Iron has been out of business for about 40 years.
