Major Robert W. Hunter secretary of military records for Virginia has come home for two or three weeks. He plans to travel to Toledo Ohio before returning to Richmond for the Weather Report celebration incident.
Mrs. Almeda Dunlap of North gence reports the death of her grandson Harry Dunlap aged nine months at the home of his parents Mr and Mrs Holmes Dunlap in Victor Colorado last Friday. Mr Dunlap has many friends in Winchester and Frederick counties who will regret the loss of his child.
Mrs. Charles Boyd suffered a stroke last week and remains ill. Rev H V Wheeler preached a sermon. Sophia Staff still ill after indigestion. Mrs William Tevauilt visited her parents. Miss Mary and Florence Spiller visiting Shenandoah county. Nora Fenner on the sick list. Mildred Tanquary indisposed. Mrs John Henshall returned to Stephenson after visiting W L Poston. Miss Mary Spitler and Miss Lila Jackson attended the Confederate reunion at Fishers Hill. Mabel Price and Cora Bartles returned home from Martinsburg after a visit with Faith Jackson. Valley Mill fort sold before the courthouse. purchased by George Gunningham of Pocahontas Va to make his future home. Cunningham born and raised on the farm.
Mr. Isaiah Funkhouser of Lebanon Church was in town today, visiting and meeting local residents. The brief stop drew attention from neighbors and church members as he shared updates and exchanged greetings.
General Clarence B Edwards of the War Department Insular Bureau met Miss Page Royall of Richmond at a hotel porch. He recognized her as the daughter of his former love Page Aylett and recalled courting her mother years ago. He told her he had sued for her mother's hand and likened her to the Virginia belle.
Rev Dr J Horace Lacy preached at the Church of the Stranger in New York City on Sunday last. Mrs Dr Lacy is staying at the Inn for a few days.
