Funeral Held for John Strange Colored Man
The funeral of John Strange colored, announced in Tor Star, was held yesterday at 2 PM from Shiloh Baptist Church. Elders Williams, Thomas and Carter officiated. Interment was in the colored cemetery. He was eighty, born in Clarke County and long employed by F A Cochran in Frederick County.

At Reservoir Park the Shenandoah Valley Academy beat a Hagerstown team called Washington County High School Baseball Club. The SVA pitchers and batters dominated while injuries trimmed the visitors. Three players were hurt, including Kern who split his hand, Judson, and Miller. The SVA will meet them again in Hagerstown on May 23.
