Jolliffe's Bright Lights Show opens the present season at Boyce on April 27 and 28 then travels to Riverton along the Norfolk and Western line. Mr. Jolliffe will stage only one show this season. The company presents high class vaudeville and travels in two special cars that were in winter quarters at Boyce.

April Term of the City Court opens in Winchester
The April term of the corporation court in Winchester convened at City Hall with Judge Wm. M. Atkinson. The will of Charlotte Shep herd, left in trust to her children, was probated. Numerous judgments for debts were entered. C. W. Wilson was appointed deputy commissioner of the Revenue. Liquor licenses will not be issued yet due to new state rules and required instructions from the Auditor. State licenses expected at 350 dollars plus eight percent of rental value.

J W Dailey center fielder of Shenandoah Valley Academy was badly injured at the Fair Grounds during a game with Randolph Macon Academy of Front Royal Virginia. He and another player collided while pursuing a fly, Dailey suffered a deep cut above the left eye and was unconscious briefly before being taken for medical care by Dr P W Boyd Jr.

Trackman Severely Injured by Train North of Martinsburg
A Martinsburg dispatch reports trackman Robinson was run over by a freight train at North Mountain on the Baltimore and Ohio line seven miles north of Martinsburg. Both legs were cut off below the knees and recovery is not expected.

Robert A Johnston Jr., a partner in Johnston & Co., paper dealers of Harrisburg Pennsylvania, died at his home after a two week illness of typhoid fever. He was 29, MIT graduate, survived by wife and child. Funeral held at his residence with Rev. D. M. Gilbert officiating. He was well known to Winchester newspaper men and printers from his regular visits.

A noon blaze at Fairfax Hall a boarding house owned by Mrs Belle Hodgson on south Market street endangered the building when a defective chimney sparked flames that reached a second floor woodwork and a nearby window frame. Mr C Ross Barr learned today of the death of his cousin H W Redman in Wheeling on Friday. Redman, about 65, was a glass manufacturer with a widow and four children.
