A Winchester committee reports progress on obtaining a new hose wagon after visiting Columbus. Wagons are built to order as manufacturers do not stock them. An automobile wagon is likely, expected to repay cost in about three years, with final council approval pending.
Eight of the ten percent withheld from tobacco growers as an equalization fund by the Burley Tobacco Society is being distributed. Checks are prepared at the office, countersigned by secretaries, and sent to county boards for delivery. No funds have been received for sold tobacco or delivery, so current payments depend on future shipments and orders to ship.
Dr J W Porter of Lexington leads a large revival in the city reaching men once in feuds. Ex sheriff Ben T White of Clay county and his son joined last night, joining a church with White's three other sons. About ninety converts reported as the meetings continue this week.
The church held revival services with four new additions mentioned. Services run through the week at 10:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Rev. Mr. Ricks delivered two thematic sermons Sunday to appreciative audiences.

Mr. Forrest Shouse, a leading county farmer and cattleman, died after entering a sheep dip vat at his Mt. Sterling area home on Saturday night. He reportedly ignored warnings and stood in the dip to adjust repairs, absorbing poisons through the skin. Funeral services were held Monday at 10 a.m. with Rev. George Froh and Rev. Wyatt officiating. burial followed in Winchester cemetery with pallbearers named Acive James Lewis, Will Dean Jr, R. M. Eubank, B. A. Cockrell, Clarence Boswell, O D. Hoskin and honorary members Woodson McCord, E. B. Dooley, Zach Conner, W. O. Brock, W. O. Hoskins, M. O. Cockrell.

Captain William A. Attersall of this city dies at his home on Sunday November 29. Born in London February 24, 1841, he came to the United States as a child and became a leading carriage blacksmith and former mayor. He served on the School Board, the City Council, and led the fire department as chief for about twenty years. A Civil War veteran, he was married to Miss Charlotte Laro of Louisville and leaves several children. funeral services Wednesday at p.m. at his home, with burial by Hickman Lodge and local groups in charge.
