Residents report missing poultry and warn of a suspect Raymond Blye. Chief McCord confirms arrest of Blye on Burns and College corners after a witness saw a man with a poultry bundle and a severed chicken head. Blood on Blye trousers cited by police as chicken gore resemblance.
John Thomas aged 93 died in Paris on Wednesday after a long life in Bourbon County Kentucky. He was the grandfather of Senator Claude M. Thomas and uncle of Mrs. W. S. Massie. A lifelong Democrat, he owned about 350 acres, belonged to the Christian Church, and left a large family including seven children and multiple grandchildren. The funeral was held at his granddaughter’s home on Seventh Street.
Mr Leer Stout hosted the Friday service at 2 30 for the deceased Mr Thomas on Seventh street Elder J T Sharrard conducted the rites. Burial followed at Paris cemetery. This death marks the fourth in the immediate family in two months including Mrs C M Thomas Mr T A Nichols and Mr John B Grimes.
News from Jackson Kentucky reports three men killed in a Breathitt county feud flare up near Buckhorn. John Davidson and Levi Jolson died. another man wounded as five alleged participants fled. Davidson had been acquitted of murdering John Abner, linked to the Callahan-Deaton feuds. Levi Jolson previously faced charges and was not tied to prior Breathitt troubles. A local constable then arrested Jeff Hensley’s alleged killer, marking three murder cases in one day.
Enthusiastic meeting in the Methodist church backed a plan to raise funds for a Winchester hospital. Organizers propose selling 750 season tickets to a three dozen entertainments during a Chautauqua Assembly with proceeds to hospital and refreshment profits.
Tobacco sales conducted at tobacco warehouses on Thursday drew a large volume of weed with the market described as good. Over 125000 pounds were sold in the morning at R A Scobee's house at prices from $3 to $20 per hundred, most of it poor quality. Afternoon sales at Planters House opened with 125000 pounds on the floor and prices expected to hold. Frank Boyd of Montgomery County sold 14200 pounds at an average of $9.62 per hundred.
Building notes report new school houses planned in the Indian and Vienna districts for this year with more convenient locations. The Youngs’ College street home nears completion and the Pastime Theatre on North Main, leased to Arthur Bloomfield, will open soon. Central Baptist church grows more imposing and will be ready shortly. C. K. and W. W. George plan a Maple street picture theatre for colored patrons. Noah Curry builds a two unit house on Washington street near the town branch. A new school district north of the city extends from the city limits to areas east of the L and N and L and E railroads, created out of necessity. The County Board forms a committee to study conditions and aid in securing a building site. a trustee will be appointed to serve until the regular election.
Nearly five hundred people gathered at First Christian church last Sunday to hear President Crossfield of the College of the Bible and Transylvania University. He could not attend due to a delayed train and lack of transport in Richmond. He is slated to occupy the pulpit Sunday evening February 18 and a crowded house is expected.
Dr. D. H. McKinney buys a 1942 Ford Roadster from Barrow and Clay, Ford Motor Company representatives.
A fire started from a defective flue at Mr. Joe Breton's residence on Akabama street on Thursday afternoon. During the call to the fire department Miss Rose Templeman broke the alarm box glass and suffered several cuts. A hole burned in the roof was the only damage. loss is sighted as small.

Frankfort Ky February 16 The good roads bill by Senator Joe F Bosworth Middlesboro cleared the Senate on a 238 to 5 vote The measure sparked vigorous debate with Senator Claude M Thomas of the Chark Bourbon Montgomery districts praising farming communities and farmers as among the most intelligent and law abiding citizens in the state It is predicted that the measure will become law.

Clark County seeks 100 boys aged 6 to 18 to join the Boys Corn Club, offering free seed corn from the Commissioner of Agriculture. Teachers are urged to involve schools and submit entrants through J. E. Lanter, Superintendent.
