Raymond Shockney dies in Tucson then laid to rest
Raymond Shockney aged 31 son of Mrs Hattie Shockney died in Tucson on Feb 5 his body came to Winchester Feb 9 and lay in state at the Hoffman home before funeral services at the Methodist church. Rev O T Martin and the American Legion conducted the service. He was a Winchester High School and Wabash College graduate who served in France in 1917 and was twice gassed and later ill with influenza. Survived by his mother and two sisters Mary of Winchester and Ada Rabus of Ft Wayne.

Winchester lodge No. 56 F and A M observed the 189th birth anniversary of George Washington with a large turnout from Union City Lynn Ridgeville Farmland and other lodges. Seventy three members raised recently received lamb skin aprons as Fred Shaw presented them. A banquet followed with chicken pie supper and toasts by Worshipful Master Russell McHatten and guests including Hon Silas A Cana da Rev F B Sapp Rev O T Martin and others. A Masonic orchestra provided music and a voluntary plate offering supported the relief fund.
