Novelty Works Located in Winchester Seeks Expansion
The Stormes Novelty Works and Winchester Chamber of Commerce secured an option on A. R. Abshire's two acre plot on South West Street with rear access to Wall Street to house a new factory. A G. R. I. rail sidetrack is planned, enabling a $10,000 corporation to grow to $25,000 with a 40 by 30 main building and a 30 by 90 “L” wing housing offices. The plant aims to hire about twenty five workers initially and expand as needed, with work starting once railroad approval is received and a sidetrack is arranged.

Death of Washington Kelp at 64 Near Stone Station
Washington Kelp aged 64 died at his home half a mile north of Stone Station at 5 30 Monday morning. Funeral services were held this forenoon at Five Points church with interment at Ritenour cemetery conducted by Zelman Johnson. He spent his life on the farm where he died and was a respected citizen by all his neighbors.

Mrs Della Evison of South East Street was taken to Randolph County Hospital last Friday for an operation on her eyes and gall stones. She remains in fair condition and is expected to return home within a week.
