Locust Found in Garden Reported by Children at Highland Ave
The OTown Crier notes children at 510 Highland Ave found a locust in the garden. A horse van rear door flew open on Boscawen St near Indian Alley and Loudoun St. The door tore away and a street light was broken during the impact. Brothers die in one vehicle crash at Lehew Route 259
Two brothers Charles A. Smith 29 of Hanging Rock West Virginia and David A. Smith 24 of Hanging Rock Florida were killed when their 1957 Chevrolet left Route 259 near Lehew West Virginia. A re-cap allegedly loosened and entangled with the steering mechanism while speed was a factor according to state police. The car traveled about 200 yards before crashing. They were transported to Winchester Memorial Hospital where both were pronounced dead. Charles worked for the International company Winter Haven and had previous service as a manager at Herbert Bryant Feed Co. He was married to the former Miss Wenonah Swisher.
