Charles Andrew McCann a noted Baltimore society figure and amateur actor died in Paris after a brief illness. Survived by two sisters Mrs J Hull Davidson and Mrs Herman Deveney, he lived at 12 East Read Street and had been visiting France six weeks. He was known for female impersonations with Paint and Powder Club and acted in The Tiger Woman with Theda Bara.

Tuberculosis Clinic To Be Held In Winchester Friday
Dr. E. C. Harper of the Virginia State Board of Health will hold a tuberculosis clinic in Winchester on Friday September 23. The free chest examinations run from 9 30 a m to noon and 2 to 4 p m at the District Nurse Association offices in the Chamber of Commerce building next to the county clerk's office. Nurses and possibly local physicians will assist.

Child Dies After Ingesting Mother’s Sedative Tablets
Robert John Barb, age three, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Barb of 219 East Baker Street, died after eating several tablets prescribed for his mother to induce sleep. The mother reportedly slept while the child accessed the box, suffered convulsions, fell and injured his head, and later died. The family recently moved from Luson, Pennsylvania. the father works at Virginia Woolen Mills. Funeral arrangements were not set.
