About 300 attendees at the Virginia Conference session of the United Brethren Church gathered in Martinsburg with Bishop G. D. Batdorf presiding. Dr. Elmer A. Hoenshel and Dr. J. B. The Rev. Carl Honeycutt will be formally installed as pastor of Grace Lutheran Church at 11 o'clock next Sunday. Dr. J. J. Scherer of Richmond, Va., president of the Lutheran Synod of Virginia, authorized the installation and designated Dr. R. Homer Anderson to conduct the service and preach. Honeycutt has served at the Winchester church since August 1 after being called June 25, 1939, the sixth anniversary of his ordination. He previously led Marion and Tazewell Lutheran charges in Virginia.
At a mass meeting in Winchester Democrats elected a new executive committee for two years. New members include Fred Thomas Strother Cooper Ben Belchie R T Bryarly Jr and Purcell D Plank. Sixteen members total four from each precinct with a nominating committee appointed.
A Polish regiment of 900 men crossed the frontier into Latvia today joining about 1000 other Polish refugees. The troops were disarmed and confined by Latvian authorities.
Renovations will not be finished by September 24, delaying Sunday School at Christ Episcopal Church. Rector Rev. Robert Nelson says classes will resume October 1 with regular sessions in all departments.

Captain Bryan Conrad son of Mrs H H McGuire has been ordered from Fort Sill Oklahoma to temporary duty in Washington DC then to serve as assistant military attache at the American embassy in London. The September 16 order was made public today and his departure date for England has not been announced.
Washington Sept 20 Chairman Smith of the House committee investigating the Labor Board said 60 000 questionnaires each with about 100 questions had been mailed to employers and unions. The queries probe the conduct of board examiners officials and board relations with employers and unions. Toland committee counsel believed the replies would aid an analysis of the board s policies and activities.
Moscow reports call up of more Soviet Reservists with no tallies given. Unofficially they head toward western frontier as Red Army occupies Wow in southern Polish Ukraine. Soviet and German officers hold talks over Poland occupation as demarcation line is set but location unspecified.
Budapest reports fast Soviet forces push into Poland blockading the Polish Romanian frontier while Warsaw endures siege and mass graves. Fighting centers around Lwow and the Bug river district as refugees flood into Hungary and Cernauti. Warsaw radio vows to resist to death.
