Clinton B Grim, about 27, shot himself in the shoulder with a 25 caliber pistol at his father Fred Grim's home at 210 South Kent. He was taken to Memorial Hospital in critical condition and could not explain his act, saying I don't know. His mother and sister witnessed the incident.

Woman Tries Suicide With Axe in Pennsylvania Village
Mrs. Lily LaFollette a 65 year old resident of Hopps Hill near Strasburg attempted to end her life by chopping her forehead with an axe at noon. She was found by farmer Joseph Hosenfluk in a pool of blood with head wounds. The skull was not fractured but she was gravely weakened by blood loss. She was not hospitalized and reportedly was out of danger but very weak.
