Beef Prices Are Expected to Rise in 1978
Virginia Tech animal science specialist K C Williamson frames a tighter beef supply outlook for 1978 with increased grain fed cattle marketing and lower grass fed slaughter. He forecasts total beef supplies down at least five percent, modest population declines in cow herds, and potential price strength through the next three years as herd rebuilding begins in 1979.
