Last Rites Held for Mrs. Smith at Fairmont Avenue

Funeral services for Mrs. William R. Smith were held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at her home 409 Fairmont Avenue. Rev. O Edward Janney of Baltimore officiated. Friends from Roanoke Baltimore Atlantic City Union Bridge and Washington attended. A choir sang hymns selected by Mrs. Smith and a poem was read at the grave. Marie Roberts Sent to York for Help

Marie Roberts, the assault victim, was sent to her York home on Saturday afternoon. The city is believed to cover her expenses since she lacks funds. Her mother lives in York and Mrs. Roberts had been jailed as a witness after the earlier arrests and sentences handed down by police court.

In Mount Vernon Illinois peach growers say this season yielded solid profits. One grower shipped 71 carloads from a 100 acre tract with peaches averaging 396 bushels per car and selling for 2 to 2.25 dollars per bushel.

Longest Will on Record Probed in Local Court

AP reports violent clashes in Dublin with several shootings. The Irish Independent offices guarded by State troops were attacked. Republican forces invaded Oriel House, home to the criminal investigation department, and a detective was killed. Postponed murder trial for nine men in Baltimore case

In Baltimore on September 18 the murder trial of nine men tied to the daytime robbery killing of William B Norris on August 18 at Parkentine and Madison streets was postponed to September 26.
