Two armed bandits robbed the Fraiberg Jewelry Company in Cleveland stealing about 20000 dollars in jewelry and 500 in cash. They forced president Frank Fraiberg and his brother Henry to open the safe and bound them before escaping.
The weather outlook for the week starting Monday predicts generally fair conditions over the North Central and Middle Atlantic states with possible local rain on Wednesday or Thursday. Temperatures rise in the first part of the week and return to normal thereafter.

Miss Lucille Anderson daughter of Mr and Mrs Fred S Anderson of North Main street leaves for Boston Massachusetts to take a pipe organ course at the New England Conservatory. She has served as organist at the Church of the Sacred Heart and will be succeeded by Miss Elizabeth Grim.
News of Jack Dempsey's fifth title defense reached Winchester by radio minutes after the fight at the Polo Grounds in New York. Large crowds, including at Rouss Hall, listened via loudspeakers as preliminary bouts amused crowds while Dempsey delivered a knockout blow at his first opportunity.

Seven prisoners escaped from Martinsburg West Virginia jail last night through a window they had pried open. The two notable fugitives are Mark Hayes charged with a July fourth homicide and Walter Pool an alleged bootlegger held on a five thousand dollar bail for liquor law violations. Police in Winchester were notified but no escapees are thought to have fled toward that city.
Guy Colfelt, a Strickley and Wagner employee, was crushed when an old brick retaining wall toppled during excavation at the Lewis Jones Knitting Company. He suffered a fractured leg, cuts, and bruises and was taken to Memorial Hospital for surgical care by Dr. E. C. Stuart. The firm proceeds with replacing the wall with concrete.
A. W. Russell, a Market and Kerns street merchant, was robbed at about ten o clock by two young white men. He described the assailants as slim, one tall in a light suit and cap, the other short in a dark suit with a light cap. No masks were worn and only a small amount of change and a pocketbook were taken, the pocketbook later returned with a gold watch. Police combed known-criminals and near-criminals for the suspects.
