Seven year old boy struck by train at Woodstock dies
Everett Katep 11 son of Mrs. Janie Goffman Estep died after being struck by a Southern Railway freight near the Woodstock station. He suffered severe injuries and died at Winchester Memorial Hospital. An inquest was held as an uneasy coroner's jury met to determine the cause. The boy had been delivering messages for Western Union and was popular in Woodstock before the tragedy.

Liberty Flyers Return After Cloud-High Flight At Winchester Fair
Staley's Liberty Flyers from Hagerstown Maryland led by Lieutenants Starbuck and Collyer returned by Curtis biplane with guests M A Henkel and W B Ryan. They left Winchester around 3:20 PM and landed in Hagerstown at 3:50 PM after a 30 minute flight soaring to 7500 feet over Martinsburg. About twenty Winchester residents took local flights and over 100 people rode with the flyers during their stay.
