Nitrosamines More Abundant Than Expected in Food and Tests
Scientists warn nitrosamine compounds may contaminate more products including laboratory animal feed used in cancer testing. Dr. David H. Fine noted difficulty in separating cancer caused by test chemicals from that caused by nitrosamines in the food. The claim was presented at an American Chemical Society session in Miami Beach.

LFPDC To Review ASAP Funding Requests At Winchester Meeting
Frederick County Division of Court Services seeks in kind funds for three programs including a satellite office in Luray and weekend patrols in Winchester and surrounding counties. The Lord Fairfax Planning District Commission will also review diverse state and local grants for water planning housing food programs and aging services among others. The event takes place tomorrow at 7 30 p m in Winchester with other requests including disaster recovery planning and liability insurance on the docket.
