Ali Calls Spinks Bout His Last Fight in New Orleans
Muhammad Ali said Friday night’s bout with Leon Spinks is the most important of his career, insisting the fight may be his last. He noted turning 36 and his declining ability, aiming to become the first three time heavyweight champion as he seeks to reclaim the title lost to Spinks in February in Las Vegas. The fight’s status as a title bout is disputed by governing bodies with the WBC recognizing it and the WBA naming Spinks as champion. Holmes being favored by the WBC for title status.
