A committee of the Charley Rouss Fire Company plans a march to Reading for the Pennsylvania State Firemen's Association convention the week of October 1. About 100 uniformed members plus a drum corps will travel by Pennsylvania Rail Road October 2 and stay through October 5 or 6. They will stay with Marion Steam Fire Engine Co. No. 10 and Washington Hose Co. No. 4 of Harrisburg and may compete for prizes. The Reading celebration marks its 175th city anniversary and 150th payover anniversary with 200 fire organizations, 10 bands, and drum corps expected.
