Virginia Traffic Toll Hits 603 In 1957
The Associated Press reports 603 people killed in Virginia traffic crashes so far in 1957, with eight deaths over the weekend and two- fatal crashes. Leonard S. Grant, 58, died on State Route 41 near Danville. A collision on U S 250 east of Waynesboro killed two and injured eight, including Lola S. Lamb, 68, of Nellysford, and her niece Barbara Jean. Prisoner in China Quoted as CIA Worker
U S civilian held in Communist China on spy charges told five visiting Americans in a Peiping prison that he worked for the CIA. Girl Dies After Slipping 800 Feet at Bridal Veil Falls
Linda Baker, 18, of Springville Utah, slipped on a ledge above Bridal Veil Falls and plunged 800 feet to her death as onlookers watched.
