Electrical workers union obtains injunction to curb activities of a U S marshal and another official. The order halts enforcement actions in Washington while restraining orders are pursued in Chicago.
Chicago reports show union officials and rail executives resisting fresh action as Judge Wilkerson prepares to decide on a permanent government injunction. Executives Deny rifts insist they stand by August platform while efforts for separate settlement grow. Temporary restraining orders block shop craft union meetings and challenge government action in federal courts.
Officials state that all 47 Argonaut mine workers may still be alive based on chemical tests showing no toxic gases in the lower level. A $5000 reward awaits the first crew to break into the mine. Frances Ganoway, a Handley Schools staff member, returns to Winchester for the 1922 23 session.
Sale notice from J L and J W Jolliffe invites buyers in Stephenson Virginia to a public auction on September 14 at 11 a m featuring 150 sheep 1465 hogs 40 fresh cows and springers 25 steers and heifers plus some horses and bulls.
The Woman's Missionary Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church South in Stephens City met at Miss Louisa McLeod's home. Arthur Seabright and Rofértaie Donald of Winchester Gun Clix competed in a registered shoot at Hagertown Md on Thursday. Seabright tied for second with 152 160 and Donald tied for fifth. prizes totaled 22.50 in gold with an extra 5 for the longest straight run. Beackner and Gentzler posted high scores. Beackner linked to Winchester Repeating Arms and Richards to Peters Cartridge.
Olivia Dellinger, daughter of Mr and Mrs Luther Dellinger of Dodson Maryland, has been critically ill with typhoid fever at home. She cannot recognize relatives. Aunt Miss Julia Steele, a nurse, came from Winchester to care for her. Dellinger is sister of W W Dellinger of Winchester Auto Sales. Mrs Dellinger was once Katharine Steele of this city.
Children in Handley Schools Kinders grade and new entrants report at 9 a m Monday September 11. All old pupils report at 9 a m. Grades seven to twelve report at 9 a m for first day. No new pupils will be registered Monday.

The Winchester Public Schools begin on Monday September 11 1922 for grades 1 through 12. New Winchester residents register September 4 to 6 at John Kerr Building for grades 1-6 and Equity Grounds for grades 7-12, with county pupils registering September 16. Only new pupils must register by September 8. those who attended before need not register.

In Harrisonburg Virginia a two car collision on the Valley Pike left Miss Blanche Davis dead with a broken neck and A W Graves dying shortly after. Clarence Stepp and Katie Branch were injured while Noah Spitzer driver of the wrecked car testified at the coroner’s inquest that Mc Crider’s car struck the rear of the other vehicle causing it to overturn. The verdict found Davins death accidental.
