Probation Actions Possible for Several NCAA Member Schools
The NCAA Board may place two to three member schools on probation as it winds up its meeting. Kansas and East Tennessee State were restored to full rights, ending probation for Kansas over Bert Coan entertainment and Wilt Chamberlain gift. East Tennessee State’s recruiting violations also resolved. Seven schools remain on probation including Indiana, New Mexico State, Tennessee State, Colorado, Utah, Humboldt State, and Whitworth. The council also revised post season basketball by law to allow certification if one day of classwork is missed, paving for the NABC all star game in Lexington and a Shriners game in Kansas City.
