Governor Roosevelt returns from Maine to Boston tonight in time for a speech broadcast at 10 30 p m. He says problems can be solved and will address local issues during the brief Portland visit.
Governor Franklin D Roosevelt of New York will deliver a campaign address at Boston tonight at 10 30 Eastern. The speech will be broadcast over WEAF and associated stations.
Franklin D Roosevelt begins a two day Massachusetts New England campaign tour with a drive through towns including Portland Groton and Boston He speaks to the Massachusetts Progressive League at Groton School stressing citizen participation in local politics and the need for liberal solutions to economic troubles while planning trips through Rhode Island Connecticut and back to Hyde Park.
At a Frederick County meeting chaired by C. I. Brumback, he recalled post Civil War hardship in Winchester and Frederick County. He urged residents to “worry along” and work together, calling for Red Cross aid this winter.
Frederick county authorities search for unknown thieves who killed and butchered three Holmes Dixon hogs on Red Bud road near Winchester. Dixon found 14 hogs, one shot, meat possibly moved or sold elsewhere. first such case in Frederick county though Clarke county reports similar thefts of sheep.
