Poisoned child to keep wife from leaving
Olive Hill Kentucky October 30. County Attorney J R McGill said Everett Sparks confessed to poisoning his four year old daughter Mildred to keep his second wife from leaving him. Sparks and his wife are jailed awaiting grand jury action. The child died October 23 after he fed her milk laced with rat poison he bought for 25 cents. He said poisoning would be an easy death and the wife was not satisfied with her condition. Sparks' first wife, Mildred's mother, died a year ago and he remarried last July.
