Richmond Va Oct 29 Burton Mayre executive secretary of the state highway traffic advisory committee said a speed check at four highway stations last week found 49 of 52 buses exceeding Virginia's new 35 mile per hour limit. The survey covered 2200 vehicles and showed cars cut speeds from 43 mph in June to 37 mph last week. Among buses 22 were 35-40 mph 10 were 41-45 12 were 46-50 and 5 were 51-55 mph. Trucks: 100 of 369 exceeded 40 mph 162 ran 36-40 and 107 were 35 mph or less. Fifty percent of light trucks were 35 mph or less. Timing sites included Route 1 north of Richmond Route 60 east of Bottoms Ridge Route 301 south of Petersburg and Route 460 east of Petersburg.
