A total of 1380 steers and heifers grossed 538161.55 at the Second Fall state graded feeder calf and yearling sale in Winchester conducted by Northern Virginia Livestock. 977 steers averaged 687 pounds at 61.71 per cwt and 424.16 per head totaling 414399.92. 403 heifers averaged 547 pounds at 56.10 per cwt and 307.10 per head totaling 123761.63. Top steer price was 78 per cwt on 444 lb Good Angus steers bought by Allen Weikart. Top heifer price 66.50 per cwt on 649 lb Choice Charolais bought by David Bossart. Seventy three buyers from eight states registered. largest buyers listed with head totals and dollar amounts. Sale managed by McIntire, with extension agents and staff. auctioned by Howard Dawkins.
